<aside> 💡 Hello! Welcome to Cultura; we're excited to share what we’re building and how we want to help you gain better insights to put into action on your farm.

We’re a team of teenagers from the Toronto area who fell in love with farming. Much like you, we recognize that working day in and day out on a farm is not an easy task, which led us to build Cultura.

Cultura is more than an app; it's a tailored tool that harmonizes diverse information streams, including localized weather trends, growing degree days, crop lifecycle stages, and beyond, built to serve and uplift the entire farming community.

We’re currently testing an early version of our product, and we sincerely appreciate any and all feedback. Feel free to connect with us at: [email protected]

Confronting Real Farming Dilemmas

Weather Apps aren’t accurate for your farm’s location

In our interactions with professors and farmers, a recurring concern surfaced: the lack of accurate weather information tailored to individual farms. Traditional weather stations are often situated far from your fields, leading to inaccurate and misleading forecasts.

One farmer we spoke to was out of town when an unexpected hailstorm hit and returned home immediately. By the time he arrived, his entire radish crop had been destroyed, wasting months of hard work, thousands of dollars worth of inputs, and lost revenue.

Unexpected and erratic rain showers not only wash away valuable fertilizers, pesticides, and fungicides from your fields, but they also squander your time and resources. Adequate moisture levels are critical for optimal growth, and relying on approximations is no longer an option. The solution? Our app utilizes advanced geolocation methods coupled with 30 years of historical data to derive insights meticulously tailored to the unique characteristics of your farm.

Pen and Paper is Phasing Out

We get it—the charm of scribbling notes on paper is undeniable. Yet, modern farm management beckons efficiency beyond pen and paper. It’s too easy to lose track of files, comb over years of archival data, and find the time to write things out among the hundreds of other tasks that need to get done.

Digitalizing your catalogs and information (as easy as scanning a sheet of paper) makes poring over data much simpler and will enable you to pass on your farming knowledge to the next generation**. Digitalization isn't just about managing data; it's about leveraging it**. By digitizing your transactions, you’ll be able to forecast expenditures based on historical patterns, tracking everything from payrolls to receivables and overall field revenues, all at your fingertips within Cultura.

There’s No Efficient Way to A/B Test and Track your Fields

One farmer we spoke to applied sheep manure to one of her rows to check its efficiency as a fertilizer. But there was no way for her to track the difference of revenue from that row to the cost of the manure, and thus led to no insight as to whether it was the ideal use case.

Cultura thrives on removing such complexities. It's designed to meticulously track your farm, row by row, plant by plant, without the hassle of endless calculations. From soil moisture levels to cumulative growing degree days, all the information about your fields will be available in the app, along with several key insights. Adding costs and revenues, measuring crop yields, tracking crop growth, and comparing year-on-year changes will become seamless, empowering you with invaluable insights to further increase your profit margins.
